Mission Capabilities

The H125’s remarkable versatility stems from its ability to excel across multiple mission profiles, supported by decades of operational experience and hundreds of supplemental type certificates (STCs) developed specifically for the platform.
Law Enforcement Operations

The H125 has become the reference standard for airborne law enforcement, with over 75% of all single-engine law enforcement deliveries in North America being H125 helicopters over the past decade. Law enforcement agencies worldwide rely on the H125 for surveillance, command and control, search and pursuit, rescue operations, special operations, escort missions, and border patrol in high and hot conditions. The aircraft can be equipped with specialized police equipment including law enforcement instrument panels, searchlights, electro-optical systems (EOS), operator consoles, night vision goggle-compatible lighting, wire strike protection, loudspeakers, downlink relays, and rappelling systems. Notable operators include the Los Angeles Police Department with 14 H125s in their fleet , Oklahoma City Police Department , and Phoenix Police Department which upgraded from AS350 B3s to five new H125s.

Aerial Firefighting

The H125 serves as a critical first-response firefighting asset, capable of dropping up to 1,200 liters of water through either belly tank or Bambi Bucket configurations. The helicopter can transport up to four firefighters and their equipment to fire scenes, while its exceptional maneuverability allows access to challenging locations that would otherwise be unreachable. The aircraft’s high and hot performance capabilities make it particularly valuable for mountain firefighting operations. Type 3 firefighting helicopters like the H125 provide superior maneuverability and higher cruise speeds than larger Type 2 helicopters, enabling faster initial attack response while carrying four to five firefighters and utilizing up to 180-gallon water buckets.

Aerial Work & Utility Operations

The H125 excels in diverse aerial work missions including air crane operations, power line inspection, crop spraying, news gathering, parachuting, geological surveys, and farming activities. With its impressive external load capacity of 1,400 kg (3,086 lb), the helicopter can handle the most rigorous high and hot missions. Recent power upgrades to the full 952 horsepower rating of the Arriel 2D engine provide additional external load capability of 140-190 kg at altitude, particularly when combined with BLR FastFin® enhancements. The aircraft’s exceptional power-to-weight ratio and maneuverability make it ideal for construction support, disaster response, and heli-logging operations where ground access is limited.
